Jones Hits Milestone in Loss to Morrisville State

ABINGTON, Pa. – Senior Devin Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) became the sixth player in Penn State Abington men's basketball history to join the 1000 – point club, scoring 10 points against Morrisville State. However, the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions could not top the Mustangs, falling 81-58 on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions honored both seniors Yusef Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jones, who will be graduating from Penn State Abington.

Abington falls to 5-18 for the season, with a 5-11 record in the NEAC.

Junior Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Abington with 18 points for the afternoon.

In a tough defensive first half, the Mustangs jumped out to a 15 point lead. The Nittany Lions battled back and finished the period on a 13-5 run to cut into their deficit.

Jones opened the second half with a shot from downtown, but the Mustangs answered with a nine point run.  Savage forced a turnover and finished with a dunk, but it was not enough to change momentum toward a comeback.

The Nittany Lions will hit the road, as they travel to Wilson College on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
