ABINGTON, Pa. – Senior
Devin Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) became the sixth player in Penn State Abington men's basketball history to join the 1000 – point club, scoring 10 points against Morrisville State. However, the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions could not top the Mustangs, falling 81-58 on Sunday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions honored both seniors
Yusef Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jones, who will be graduating from Penn State Abington.
Abington falls to 5-18 for the season, with a 5-11 record in the NEAC.
Junior
Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Abington with 18 points for the afternoon.
In a tough defensive first half, the Mustangs jumped out to a 15 point lead. The Nittany Lions battled back and finished the period on a 13-5 run to cut into their deficit.
Jones opened the second half with a shot from downtown, but the Mustangs answered with a nine point run. Savage forced a turnover and finished with a dunk, but it was not enough to change momentum toward a comeback.
The Nittany Lions will hit the road, as they travel to Wilson College on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
