ABINGTON, Pa. – Senior
Kathryn Kelly (Springfield, Pa), sophomore
Michaela Mast (Pottstown, Pa.), and freshman
Sarah Eisele (Langhorne, Pa.) netted two goals each, but the Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team fell to Medaille College 15-8 on Sunday afternoon.
Abington drops to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
Both teams struggled to generate an attack, but Mast broke the silence with her eleventh goal of the season.Â
The Mavericks went on to score seven consecutive goals before Eisele shifted momentum with her free position goal.
Mast won the next draw control and drove down the field, placing her shot past the keeper to cut the Mavericks lead to 7-3.
Eisele finished the Nittany Lions run with another goal with six minutes remaining in the half.
Medaille scored another two goals before
Bridget Meade (Willow Grove, Pa.) finished the half with her goal. The Nittany Lions trailed 9-5 at the break.
In the second half, Kelly netted two consecutive goals within three minutes to bring Abington back within three goals. Although Medaille held off the Nittany Lions with four more goals.
Abington will travel to Lancaster Bible on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
