Softball Drops Doubleheader to Berks

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington softball team hosted Penn State Berks, but dropped both games in the series on Monday afternoon.  Berks took game one by a 6-1 margin, and shut out Abington in game two 10-0 at Huntingdon Field.

Abington falls to 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

Freshman Amy Worek (Abington, Pa.) put in a solid performance at the plate as she went 4-of-5 with an RBI double in game one.

In game one Berks held a slim margin, until the top of the seventh inning when they put the game out of reach with three runs off of four hits.

A solid performance from Penn State Berks pitcher Becca Faust held Abington in check at the plate and only allowed six hits in game two.

The Nittany Lions will look to rebound when they host Franklin and Marshall tomorrow afternoon for a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m.
