JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Penn State Abington baseball team recorded 17 hits, but fell to New Jersey City 8-7 on Tuesday afternoon.
In their final non-conference game of the season, the Nittany Lions drop to 16-18 overall.
Abington opened the game with three runs in the first inning highlighted by a double from
Matt Meyers (Cheltenham, Pa.) down the right field line.Â
Max German (Newtown, Pa.) added two more runs across the plate with a double to left center field. The Nittany Lions added two more runs in the fourth inning with a double from
Brandon Mau (Philadelphia, Pa.) and a single from
Ted Smallwood (Athens, NY). The Knights rallied with eight unanswered runs to earn the win.
The Nittany Lions will host a crucial NEAC contest against Cazenovia College this weekend at Upper Moreland High school at 1:00 p.m.
