BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Senior
Kathryn Kelly (Springfield, Pa.) netted five goals to lead the Nittany Lions to their first conference win of the season with a 10-8 victory over Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions improve to 2-4 for the season and 1-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Chasidy McLaurin (Philadelphia,Pa.) opened the scoring with a goal in the first three minutes of action. Abington held a slim margin until
Michaela Mast (Pottstown, Pa.) recorded two consecutive goals to give the Nittany Lions a solid 3-0 lead. Moments later, Kelly notched her first goal of the game.
The Nittany Lions held the Lions scoreless until the final minutes of the game, but Bryn Athyn broke through with a goal from Sabrina Colbridge. With 24 seconds left on the clock, Kelly answered with her second goal of the game. At the five second mark, Bryn Athyn drove down the field and scored again.
Bryn Athyn opened the second half with a goal to cut the lead to 5-3.
With sixteen minutes left in the game, the Nittany lions stole momentum scoring four goals between Kelly and McLaurin to hold a commanding 9-3 lead.
The Lions added two more goals before Kelly scored her fifth goal of the game. Bryn Athyn pressured Abington with three goals in the final minutes, but the Nittany Lions held on.
Abington will return to the field when they host SUNY Poly on Saturday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m.
