CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Abington softball team traveled to Wilson College but fell to the Phoenix in both games on Saturday afternoon. Wilson took game one 5-2, and game two by a score of 3-1.
The Nittany Lions drop to 15-15 for the season and 7-7 in the conference.
Becca Dougherty (Churchville, Pa.) started the game off with a single to left field that scored two runs. The Phoenix responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Wilson would go on to add two more runs late in the game to hold off the Nittany Lions.
In game two, the Phoenix were first on the board with three runs in the third inning. Abington would go on to add a run in the fourth inning off an RBI single from Danielle Hebling (Warminster, Pa) but the Nittany Lions couldn't rally past the Phoenix.
The Nittany Lions continue their road trip when they travel to Gallaudet University tomorrow at noon.
