Nittany Lions Drop Opener to St. Mary's 4-0

ABINGTON, Pa. -  The Penn State Abington men's soccer team opened its season against St. Mary's (MD) and fell to Hawks 4-0, on Thursday afternoon at Memorial Field.

The young squad saw 10 freshman take the field, with six getting called to start.

Senior forward Richard Domico (Langhorne, Pa.) recorded five shots, including a one that curved toward the top corner, but the keeper made a spectacular punch to keep it out of the net.

The best chance for the Nittany Lions came in the second half when Abington won a penalty off a free kick into the box. Domico lined up the penalty and placed his shot to the left corner, but the keeper saved it well. Off the rebounded penalty, Domico's second shot was unlucky to hit the crossbar.

Abington will look to rebound when they host Hunter College tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
