Samantha Friend (Philadelphia, Pa.) put on a strong performance in the net with seven saves, but a goal in the 34
th minute tripped up the Penn State Abington women's soccer team at Neumann 1-0 on Thursday night.
Abington positioned seven shots on the net and forced five saves from the keeper but could not break the deadlock.
Immaculata broke the stalemate off a corner kick. The Knights Summer Sides lined a shot that forced Friend to make the first save, but Grace Stauffer put away the rebound for the lead.
The Nittany Lions best chance came in the 89
th minute of the game, down one goal
Haley Miller (Hatfield, Pa.) placed her shot, but it went just wide of the net.
Abington will continue its road trip when they travel to Immaculata University on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.
