ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team hosted Centenary College and Gwynedd Mercy in a tri match and came away with two wins, on Saturday afternoon.  The Nittany Lions improve to 5-2 for the season.
The Nittany Lions won both matches over Centenary and Gwynedd Mercy by a 3-0 decision.
Abington cruised through the first game winning 25-19, 25-7 and 25-15 but game two proved to be a tougher battle. Â The Nittany Lions won the first two games 25-14, and 25-10 but in game three, Abington had to rally to win a tough battle 25-23.
Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions with 21 kills for the afternoon, and
Cortney Schwar (Annandale, NJ) racked up 29 assists between both games.
Abington will hit the road on Wednesday when they travel to Rosemont College for a 7:00 p.m. match.
