Hat Trick from Villamil Gives Nittany Lions 4-1 Win over Wilson

ABINGTON, Pa. – Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded his fourth multi-goal game of the season with a hat trick in a 4-1 win for the Penn State Abington men's soccer team over Wilson College, Saturday afternoon.

Abington continues its outstanding season with a 5-1 record overall and 4-0 mark in the conference.

Villamil leads the NEAC and is second in the NCAA Division III in goals with 10 on the season.

In a face paced first half, the Nittany Lions were first on the board when Villamil finished a perfect low cross from freshman Chris Schlegel (Philadelphia, Pa.) for the first goal.

Wilson answered in the 22nd minute when Raihan Azim beat the keeper from the left side of the box.

Villamil put the Nittany Lions back on top in the 27th minute when he capitalized on a long ball through the middle from Justin Tobin (Langhorne, Pa.) for a 2-1 lead.

The sophomore forward completed the first half hat trick on a beautiful run of play from Pablo Zalduondo (Puerto Rico) and Richard Domico (Langhorne, Pa.) to assist Villamil for his final goal.

In the second half Domico finished off the Phoenix with a powerful shot fired past the keeper in the 68th minute to give the Nittany Lions the 4-1 win.

Abington will continue their home stand when they host Gallaudet University tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
