Women's Volleyball Splits Crossover Day One

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's Volleyball team hosted five other NEAC teams for the NEAC crossover and came away with a split in the two games during the day.  Abington earned a 3-0 sweep in the first match over SUNY Cobleskill, but dropped a heart breaking loss to SUNY Poly 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Abington moves to 10-5 for the season and 3-2 in the conference.

In game one Abington cruised to a 25-6 win in the first set, and a 25-13 decision in the second set. The Fighting Tigers pushed the Nittany Lions in the third set, but Abington prevailed with a 25-21 win.

Against SUNY Poly, the Nittany Lions and Wildcats battled back and forth, but the Wildcats pulled out a 25-23 victory in the first set. In the second set, Abington pulled a slight lead, but Poly rallied to take another 25-23 decision to make it 2-0.  The Wildcats closed out the Nittany Lions with a 25-18 win in the third set for the sweep.

Senior Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the attack with 15 kills between both games followed by Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa.) with 14 kills. Defensively Maddi Richard (Warminster, Pa.) racked up 29 kills for the day.
