ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team hosted the NEAC South contender Lancaster Bible but could not overcome the Chargers with an 81-65 loss on Saturday afternoon. Abington drops to 4-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
Abington welcomed back the men's basketball alumni that spanned over teams from four decades.
Freshman
John Ryan (Warminster, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions again with 14 points on the afternoon and senior
Don Sloan (Philadelphia, Pa.) added 13 points.
In the opening seconds of the first half, freshman
Austin Slawter (Philadelphia, Pa.) kicked off the game with a shot from downtown. Neither team could take a large lead in the first 15 minutes, but two consecutive three-pointers for the Chargers spurred a 16-4 to end the first half.
The Chargers pulled even further ahead in the second half with three-shots from behind the arc in the first four minutes of action. Sloan helped the Nittany Lions keep pace with his accuracy from downtown. However, the Nittany Lions could not gain ground on the Chargers.
The men will be on the road traveling Penn College on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
