ABINGTON, PA. – Against their rivals the Penn State Abington men's soccer team earned a thrilling 1-0 win over Penn State Berks with a late goal on Monday afternoon. Abington stays at the top of the conference standings with an 8-6 record and an undefeated 6-0 mark in the conference.
Abington dominated the attack with 17 shots and forced eight saves from Berks' goalkeepers. The home team turned up the heat early when Sean Seidenberg broke open for a free header going to the top shelf, but Gerardo Sosa made a leaping save to deny Abington. In the attack
Thomas Vessels (Jenkintown, Pa.) was active with five shots and forced the goal keeper to make four great saves.
In the second half Vessels found the ball in the middle of the box but fired his hard shot right at the keeper for the save. Â In the remaining minutes the hosts pressured Berks, and in the 89
