ABINGTON, Pa. – A goal from
Michael Albers (Southampton, Pa.) and
Chris Schlegel (Philadelphia, Pa.) helped the Penn State Abington men's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout of Penn College to remain unbeaten in the conference on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions improve to 9-6 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the conference.
In the first half the Nittany Lions took advantage of a defensive miscue for the Wildcats that led to Albers converting his perfect opportunity for his third goal of the year in the 7
th minute of action. The Nittany Lions stifled the Penn College attack only allowing two shots that didn't test the keeper.
In the second half the Nittany Lions doubled their total when
Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, PA.) broke away on the left wing and sent his cross to the right post and finished by Schlegel to open his account for the year.
The Nittany Lions will honor seven seniors tomorrow in the final home game of the season when they host Cazenovia College at 12:00 p.m. on Memorial Field
