MORRISTOWN, NJ – Senior
Michelle Latronica (Philadelphia, Pa.) netted her third hat trick of her career in a 5-1 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday afternoon. The Nittany Lions improve to 6-9-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference after the win.
The senior forward didn't waste much time getting on the board, when she netted her first goal in the 8
th minute off a corner kick. Later in the 27
th minute Latronica added to her total with her second goal of the game when she broke away from the midfield and slotted the ball home. Latronica completed the hat trick right before the half in the 42
nd minute to give the Nittany Lions the 3-0 advantage at the break.
The Eagles didn't go away quietly and earned their first goal in the 63
rd minute when Taylor Veve benefited from a deflection. Â Junior
Haley Keller (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded her first goal of the season to give the Nittany Lions the 4-1 lead in the 72
nd minute of action. Finally,
Greta Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.) finished off the Eagles with a penalty kick goal in the 80
th minute.
Abington will travel to Lancaster Bible with NEAC South Division Seeding on the line as they face the Chargers this Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
