WILLIMANTIC, CT – On the road in Connecticut the Penn State Abington women's volleyball faced off against Eastern Connecticut State and Nichols College, but couldn't come away with a win on Saturday afternoon. Abington dropped a thrilling 3-2 match against Nichols College, and then fell to the hosting Eastern Connecticut Warriors 3-0. After the two matches Abington falls to 7-11 for the season.
Junior
Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded 19 kills between both matches and defensively,
Cori Watson (Harleysville, Pa.) racked up 44 digs for the day.
Abington junped out to a 2-0 lead in the first match with a 25-18 win in the first setm and a 25-17 win in the second set. With their backs against the wall the Bison earned a gritty 25-22 win in the third set and followed it up with a 25-18 win in the fourth set to force the tie breaker. In a back-and-forth intense match the Bison prevailed with a 15-13 win. In the next match against the Warriors the Nittany Lions fell 25-7, 25-10 and 25-17.
Next up the Nittany Lions will travel to Valley Forge on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
