Men's Soccer Defeats Wells, 2-1

AURORA, NY – A dominate offensive display by the Penn State Abington men's soccer team helped them remain undefeated in the conference with a 2-1 win over Wells College on Sunday afternoon. Abington improves to 6-6 and 4-0 in the NEAC after today's match.

Abington controlled the match outshooting the Express 19-4 margin, but all four shots tested keeper Ty Morris (Flemington, NJ).

In the first half the Express were first on the board with a goal in the 17th minute of the game off a long shot from Jim Duchesneau.  Abington responded only moments later when Jose Palomeque (Upper Dublin, Pa.) beat the defender and netted his third goal of the season to tie the match at 1-1. Only thirty seconds into the second half freshman Michael Albers (Southampton, Pa.) scored the game winning goal when Marco Martins (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) fed him a perfect pass that was slotted in from the right wing. Abington shut down the Express' attack only facing two shots for the rest of the match.

Abington look to continue their success when they host Gallaudet University on Saturday October 14, at noon.
