HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team traveled to face the top scoring defense in the country, but the Nittany Lions were stifled 92-69 on Thursday night.  Abington drops to 2-5 after the first round of the Juniata tournament.
Freshman
Devin Hill (Philadelphia, PA) led the Nittany Lions with 16 points and right behind
Terrance Reese (Philadelphia, PA) netted 13 points for Abington.
Hill started the game with the hot hand scoring the Nittany Lions first eight points and giving them a small margin. The Eagles pulled back in front after shooting almost 60 percent from the floor. Abington kept pace and stayed within striking distance, but a late three-ball for the Eagles put the hosts up by double-digits.
The Eagles continued their hot shooting from the floor with a 65 percent average and pushed their lead to 17 points. A steal and layup from
Pernell Ghee (Germantown, PA) helped the Nittany Lions claw their way back with eight points and shift momentum. A 13-0 run for the hosts helped them take control of the game and off the Nittany Lions.
Abington will be back in action tomorrow for the consolation match of the Juniata tournament.
