MORRISVILLE, NY - Â The Penn State Abington men's basketball team traveled up to New York for a crucial game against Morrisville State. Unfortunately the Nittany Lions couldn't pull off the victory with an 87-72 loss to the Mustangs on Friday night.
Â
Freshman
John Ryan (Warminster, Pa.) earned 21 points in the game followed by junior guard
Kenny Bey-Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) with 12 points.
Â
Ryan had a huge first half and helped the Nittany Lions get off to a 7-2 lead in the first three minutes. Â Abington held a slim advantage until the ten minute mark when the Mustangs knocked down a three-ball to take their first lead. Despite a 19 point first half performance from Ryan the Nittany Lions trialed 44-34 at the half.
Â
The Mustangs had strong presence on the boards getting most of their points in the paint and out-rebounding the Nittany Lions to keep them at bay.
Â
Win and they are in. If the Nittany Lions win tomorrow's game against Cazenovia College they will punch their ticket to the NEAC playoffs. Â Abington will take on the Wildcats tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
