ALLENTOWN, PA. - A ninth inning rally for the Penn State Abington baseball team wasn't enough to upset the host Muhlenberg College on Thursday afternoon. The 5-2 loss to the Mules puts the Nittany Lions at 1-15 for the season.

Muhlenberg earned the first two runs of the game but the Nittany Lions Tyler DiPatri ( Pedricktown, NJ ) smacked a tough ground ball to the shortstop to score a run in the fifth inning. The Mules John Icaza knocked two hometo push the lead to 5-1. In the ninth inning, with a man on second and two outs Julio Aira (Miami, FL) drove a deep ball to left field for an RBI double to score the final run for the Nittany Lions.

Abington will kick off conference play when they host Gallaudet this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
