GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Penn State Abington softball team traveled to MAC power Arcadia University, but came away empty handed as the Knights handed the Nittany Lions an 8-0 loss in game one, and 8-3 defeat in game two. After Thursday's doubleheader the Nittany Lions fall to 4-6 for the season.
Arcadia pitchers Kylee Schwind and Kayla Resh pitched a no-hitter against the Nittany Lions in game one, but Abington would break through in game two.
Right off the bat, the Nittany Lions scored a run when they took advantage of a throwing error by the second baseman. The Knights responded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning on their way to eight consecutive runs. In the seventh inning freshman
Sam Goetz (New Egypt, NJ) put the Nittany Lions on the board with her double to left center field, but it wasn't enough to spark a rally.
The Nittany Lions will kick off their NEAC slate on Saturday afternoon when they host the College of St. Elizabeth at 1:00 p.m.
