MYRTLE BEACH, SC - THe Penn State Abington softball team kicked off the season in dramatic fashion, with a walk off 3-2 win over Grove City College on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior catcher Danielle Hebling (Warminster, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions going 2-of-4 with a single, a double, a run scored and the game winning RBI sac fly in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Wolverines were first on the board in the second inning with an RBI single, and later in the sixth inning they added to their total off an error.

Three consecutive doubles from Hebling, Breanna Lineman (Philadelphia, Pa.)and Isabel Hoch (Philadelphia,Pa.) tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

With bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, Hebling stepped up to the plate and drove a ball to center field that allowed the runner to score.
The Nittany Lions will continue their spring break trip tomorrow when they face off against Kings tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
