LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior
Diego Melendez (Camden, NJ) broke the program record for wins in a series split with Lancaster Bible on Tuesday afternoon.  Melendez earned his 15th career win after pitching four innings with five strikeouts. Abington moves to 4-17 for the season and 3-1 in the conference with a 10-6 win in game one, and a heart breaking 12-11 loss in game two.
Senior
Trey Guaglionona (Abington, Pa.) went 5-of-10 on the day with four RBIs three runs scored and a home run in game one.
In game one, Lancaster Bible started out with a 5-1 lead in the third inning aided by a pair of home runs, but the Nittany Lions slowly chipped away at the lead. A homer in the fifth inning from Guaglionona tied the game at five, but the Chargers took the lead back. The Nittany Lions added two more runs in the sixth and seventh inning to hold off the Chargers.
The Chargers held a commanding 12-5 lead in the ninth inning with the game all but wrapped up,
Tyler DiPatri (Pedricktown, NJ) stepped up to the plate with bases loaded and no outs. The sophomore sent a rocket over the fence for the grand slam to breathe new life into the Nittany Lions. Later in the inning
Julio Aira (Miami, Fla.) kept the rally alive with a solo shot and
Austin Mikula (Philadelphia, Pa.) chipped in an RBI single to bring the Nittany Lions within one run.  With the tying run at third, the Nittany Lions  were unable to push the game into the bottom of the inning with a strikeout.
Abington will be back home tomorrow when they host John Jay for a single nine inning game at 3:30 p.m.
