SCRANTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington baseball team took a break from conference play to travel to Scranton, but the Nittany Lions fell to the Royals 15-4, on Wednesday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 10-20 for the season.
Freshman
Stevie Stevenson (Westhampton, NJ) kicked off the game with a single up the middle and stole second. Moments later the shortstop advanced to third on a wild pitch, and
Tyler DiPatri (Pedricktown, NJ) drove him in for the RBI. The Royals answered in the bottom of the first with three runs of their own.
The Nittany Lions chipped away at the lead with runs in the second and third inning to tie the game 3-3.
Scranton continued to score the next five runs before the Nittany Lions could get back on the board. An RBI single from
Christopher Hartman (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished off the scoring for Abington.
The Nittany Lions will continue their road trip when they face off against Cazenovia College on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
