WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team opened its season with a clean 3-0 sweep of Cairn University, but fell 3-0 to the hosts Kings College in their tri-match on Friday evening.
Abington moves to 1-1 after the two matches to open its season.

Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the charge for the Nittany Lions with 13 kills between the two matches, and defensively sophomore
Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) recorded 35 kills on the evening.
In the first match of the day the Nittany Lions dominated the first set with a 25-7 win over the Highlanders. The Nittany Lions cruised through the second set with a 25-15 decision, and wrapped up the match with a third consecutive victory after a 25-17 set.
Going against the hosts the Nittany Lions struggled with 25-10, 25-11, and 25-11 loses in their three sets.
Abington returns to action tomorrow when they travel to Hackettstown New Jersey for another tri-match against Centenary College at 10:00 a.m. and Valley Forge slated for a noon start.
