ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team host NEAC power Lancaster Bible, but couldn't pull off the upset in a 3-1 loss on Wednesday night. The Nittany Lions fall to 6-7 for the season and take their first loss in the conference at 2-1, while the Chargers improve to 4-1 in the NEAC.
Abington was led by junior
Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa,) with 10 kills for the evening.
The Chargers took the first set handily in a 25-13, but Abington slowly woke up in the second set but again lost to Lancaster Bible 25-17. With their backs against the wall, the Nittany Lions won an intense third set 26-24 to force the fourth game. A late rally by the Nittany Lions fell short in a 25-19 decision for Lancaster Bible.
The Nittany Lions will be on the road at Albright this weekend for a tri-match. In the first game of the day Abington will face off against Rutgers Camden at 1:00 p.m. and then later face off against the host Albright College at 3:00 p.m.
