GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA -  The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team continued its road trip at Gwynedd Mercy and came away with a 3-0 win over the Griffins on Wednesday evening. Abington improves to 3-2 for the season.

Junior Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions again with 11 kills and sophomore Cortney Schwar (Annandale, NJ) aided the Nittany Lions with six kills and 15 assists.

Down 23-21 in the first set, the Nittany Lions stole momentum with a 4-0 run to take the first set of the night 25-21.

In the second set the Nittany Lions took the lead and never looked back with another 25-20 win in the second set to control the match. 

The Griffins wouldn't go down without a fight, taking an early lead in the third set. A huge 8-0 swing for the Nittany Lions helped Abington back into the lead. In a back-and-forth fight the Griffins stole momentum with four consecutive points to tie the match 24-24. A kill from Tiffany Watson (Philadelphia, Pa.) gave the Nittany Lions the edge, and Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) clinched the match with a service ace to win the third set.

Abington continues its road trip when they travel to Notre Dame of Maryland on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
