Nittany Lions Cruise Past Bryn Athyn, 101-77

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State men's basketball team fell behind cross town rivals Bryn Athyn by double-digits in the first half, but a second half surge saw them to a 101-77 win on Wednesday night.  The Nittany Lions improve to 4-7 and pick up a key conference win at 2-2 in the NEAC.
 
The youth movement shined for the Nittany Lions with three freshman that earned double digits. Devin Hill (Philadelphia, PA) lead the way with 16 points and right behind Pernell Ghee (Germantown, PA) chipped in 15 points as well. Junior Jordan Lomax (West Haven, CT) dominated the boards with 10 rebounds and completed the double-double with 11 points.
 
Bryn Athyn got off to an incredible start in the first half, and didn't miss a single shot in the first five minutes of the game. The Lions hit seven threes' in the first ten minutes of the game to give them a 30-17 lead over Abington. The Nittany Lions shifted momentum in their favor by getting down the court quickly. Fast break buckets by Ghee and Kevin Raymond (Chalfont, PA) brought the Nittany Lions within striking distance.  Bryn Athyn held on to a 47-41 advantage at the break.
 
The game stayed close in the second half, but the Nittany Lions were able to take the edge away from their rivals. The Nittany Lions moved up and down the floor like a juggernaut, and Bryn Athyn couldn't respond. Abington went on a 20-7 run and continued to push their lead to a 20 point margin.  As a result of the impressive display the Nittany Lions were able to eclipse the century mark for the first time this season.
 
The Nittany Lions look to continue their dominance when they host Keuka College this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
