ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington Men's Basketball team lost a 79-68 decision to Keuka College in an intense conference game Saturday afternoon. Abington had a total of 34 points in the paint and shot near 70 percent from the free throw line, however that would not be enough as they fell to the school from New York. The Nittany Lions record now stands at 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the NEAC.
In the midseason conference game, freshmen
Devin Hill (Philadelphia, PA) led the Nittany Lions with 19 points while freshmen
Pernell Ghee (Germantown, PA) notched a total of 16 points to help the team. Junior
Jordan Lomax (West Haven, CT) led both teams with eight rebounds and sophomore
Quinn DeNofa (Philadelphia, PA) had a vital six assists for Abington.
Early in the first half, Abington led Keuka by five points after Devin Hill landed a big three, but the game was very tight as the half continued. Keuka had the edge, however both teams were deadlocked four times throughout the period. Â The Nittany Lions kept the margin close until the end of the half when Keuka's David Oliveras landed a jumper to give his team a 43-32 point lead going into half-time.
Keuka continued to lead Abington throughout the second half, until
Kevin Raymond (Chalfont, PA) earned an and-one and knocked down his free throw, which narrowed the margin to three points. The Wolves kept the edge over the Nittany Lions, but their defense kept the game completive to the final minutes of the half. Â
The Nittany Lions return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Wells College 12:00 PM.
