Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Viet Pham

Nittany Lions Overpowered by Chargers, 93-79

LANCASTER, Pa – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team three game winning streak came to an end Saturday afternoon. Despite shooting 88.9 percent from the free throw line and an excellent effort closing the point gap throughout the game, the Men's Basketball team fell to the undefeated Chargers. The Nittany Lions record now stands at 7-9 overall and 5-4 in the NEAC.

Freshman Pernell Ghee (Germantown, PA) led the team with 16 points in the game, while freshman Devin Hill (Philadelphia, PA) notched 15 points and 5 rebounds throughout the game. Junior Jordan Lomax (West Haven, CT) finished the game with a double-double, as he had a total of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Lomax continued to dominate the board as he leads the NEAC in rebounds per game. Sophomore Terrance Reese (Philadelphia, PA) also landed 12 points for the Nittany Lions.

Early in the game, LBC went on a 12-0 run, and the game looked destined to be one sided. However Abington was able to claw their way back as the half continued. Devin Hill made a big three and two free throw shots halfway through the period to close gap. Reese drained a three pointer with less than seven minutes left to keep the game completive. LBC lead the Nittany Lions 48-35 at halftime.

In the second half, the Nittany Lion had a great ball movement during an early possession that led to a three point shot by sophomore John Ryan (Warminster, PA). In an attempt to force turnovers late in the half, the Nittany Lions switched to a full court press, but the press wasn't enough and Bible pulled away late in the game.

The Nittany Lions will be back in action on Tuesday 6:00 PM when they host Gallaudet.
