ABINGTON, Pa. –  The Penn State Abington women's basketball team hosted Gallaudet for a NEAC South showdown, but the Nittany Lions dropped a 79-65 decision to the Bison on Tuesday night. The Nittany Lions fall to 10-8 overall and 5-5 in the conference after the loss.

Senior guard
Symantha Marrero (Philadelphia, PA) shined for the Nittany Lions with 21 points that six three-pointers. Senior
Grace Dewey (Falls Church, Va.) followed in the scoring with 14 points and led the Nittany Lions with seven rebounds, tied with freshman
Iman Richmond (Chicago, IL).

The first quarter saw eight lead changes with a great offensive display from both team. Abington pulled ahead by seven when Marrero knocked one of many thee-balls to give Abington the 17-10 advantage. Although a late 7-2 run from Gallaudet closed the gap by the end of the first quarter.

Gallaudet continued their momentum into the second quarter and quickly took the lead back. The Bison would go on to hold the lead for almost the entire quarter, outscoring the Nittany Lions 21-11 in the period.

The Nittany Lions opened the half with a 10-1 run, and Richmond netted the lead for Abington with her shot from downtown. The hosts continued to hold onto with a thin advantage until the final minutes when the Bison rallied.

Abington was stuck in foul trouble early in the fourth quarter, and the Bison took advantage knocking down 12 of their 27 points at the stripe.

Abington will be on the road when they travel to Cazenovia College on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
