UTICA, NY.- The Penn State Abington women's soccer team traveled to New York on Saturday afternoon to face conference opponent SUNY Poly. The Nittany Lions were defeated 3-2 by the Wildcats in the closing minutes of the game. Abington now drops to 1-7-1 in conference, and 3-9-3 overall.Â
The Wildcats scored in the 15th minute, quickly going up 1-0 in the first half. However, senior
Jessica Domansky (Jenkintown, PA) answered back for the Nittany Lions three minutes later to tie the match 1-1. SUNY Poly took the lead at halftime 2-1. Junior
Haley Miller (Hatfield, PA) showed fight for Abington, when she scored her second goal of the season, after a ball was passed to her from over the top at midfield, tying the game 2-2. The Wildcats continued to test goal keeper
Samantha Friend's (Southampton, PA) 6 saves in the second half when they were able to find the back of the net in the final 89th minute.Â
Abington will spend the night in New York tonight, before traveling to NEAC opponent SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday morning for a 12pm match.Â
