ONEONTA, NY- The Penn State Abington women's soccer team, got their second conference win of the season on Sunday afternoon after defeating SUNY Cobleskill 4-2. The Nittany Lions are now 2-7-1 in conference, and 4-9-3 overall.
Senior
Jessica Domansky (Jenkintown, PA) and freshman
Taylor Perkowski (Collingswood, NJ) lead the Nittany Lions offense by scoring two goals each. Domansky struck in the 31st minute after beating the goalie one on one in the box. Heading into halftime the game was tied 1-1.
It wasn't until the second half when Perkowski scored her sixth goal of the season off a breakaway, giving the Nittany Lions a 2-1 lead. Cobleskill tied the game in the 61st minute. Moments later, Domansky scored her second goal of the game off a blast from 18 yards out, extending Abington's 3-2 lead. Perkowski put the game away when she scored in the 84th minute off a breakaway.
The Nittany Lions successfully out shot the Tigers 21-13. Abington will celebrate their senior day and their final game of the regular season on Saturday October 27th when they host the College of Saint Elizabeth at 1pm.
