ABINGTON, PA – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team suffered their first loss in over a month after being downed by Rutgers-Camden 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon. After the loss the Nittany Lions fall to 8-3 for the season.
In the first half of action the Nittany Lions had six chances to score, and forced five saves from the Scarlet Raptors goalkeeper, but couldn't get into the net.
Rutgers Camden picked up the high press in the second half, and earned more chances with nine shots. In the 57
th minute Skyler Diggs broke the deadlock when Cristian Ognibene put in a perfect cross that was finished at the back post. Aba David put the game out of reach for the Nittany Lions with a goal in the 88
th minute.
Abington will hit the road this weekend when they travel to Wells College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
