AURORA, NY.- The Penn State Abington men's soccer team traveled to NEAC opponent Wells College on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions improved their conference record to 7-0, after defeating the Express 4-1.
In the first half and five minutes into play, Senior
Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, PA) shot a penalty kick putting Abington up 1-0. This was Villamil's 7th goal of the season. Minutes later, he struck again unassisted scoring his 8th goal of the season, and second of the day to put the Nittany Lions up 2-0 at halftime.
At the 50th minute, sophomore
Sebastian Krysztofowicz (Doylestown, PA)Â received a throw in from teammate
Jose Palomeque on the right sideline, into the center, before striking a goal into the back of the net to give the Nittany Lions a commanding 3-0 lead. Moments later
Jose Palomeque (Upper Dublin, PA) got his 6th goal of the season when he curled a direct kick from 23 yards out, to add to Abington's comfortable 4-0 lead. Abington played stellar defense, only allowing Wells to shoot three times in the second half.Â
Abington will travel to Swarthmore College on Wednesday October 10th for a 7:00 p.m. kick off.
