AURORA, NY.- The Penn State Abington women's soccer team competed against  NEAC opponent Wells College on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fell to the Express 2-0, and dropped to 1-5-1 in conference play.
The Express scored early in the game at the 23rd minute mark on a corner kick that was headed down, and then shot into the back of the net. Later in the second half, Wells scored early on at the 47th minute mark, on a rebound that was deflected by goalkeeper
Samantha Friend.
Despite outshooting their opponent 26-9, the Nittany Lions were unable to score past the 11 saves and perfect defense from Wells goalkeeper.
Sarah Eisele (Langhorne, PA) led the Nittany Lions in shots on goal with a total of 4.
Christina Kane (Hatboro, PA) and
Taylor Perkowski (Collingswood, NJ) each had a pair of shots on goal.
Teresa Barker (Warminster, PA),
Mary Kate Smith (Oreland, PA), and
Pamela Blesi (Philadelphia, PA)Â tested the keeper with a shot on goal a piece.
Abington will host Cairn University on Wednesday October 10th for a 4pm match.Â
