DOYLESTOWN, PA- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team traveled to Delaware Valley University on Thursday evening, to play their final game before the holiday break. The Nittany Lions were defeated by the Aggies 75-72 and dropped to 5-3 overall on the season.
Freshman Mikayla Noel-Cohen (Sicklersville, NJ) earned her second double-double of the season, racking up 10 rebounds and 13 points for the Nittany Lions. There were four other Nittany Lions who scored double digits against the Aggies including senior Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA) 16 points, freshman Lacy MacLachlin (Boyertown, PA) 15 points, sophomore Iman Richmond (Chicago, IL) 12 points, and junior Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA) 12 points. 38 of Abington's points came from inside the paint.
Heading into halftime Abington led the Aggies 33-25, and continued to stay in the lead after the 3rd quarter with a score of 49-44. But, Del Val rallied in the final quarter and managed to score 31 points against the Nittany Lions.
Abington will return to play after the New Year on January 2nd, when they travel to Hood College for a 2:00pm tip-off.
