LANCASTER, Pa. – After getting swept by Lancaster Bible in the regular season, the Penn State Abington women's basketball team exacted their revenge with a 67-54 upset of the No. 1 seed on Tuesday night. After tonight's win the Nittany Lions will move on to the Semifinals for the first time since their magical NEAC Championship in 2015.

Grace Dewey (Falls Church, Va.) all knocked down 16 points to lead the team, with Dewey racking up 16 rebounds as well.
The Nittany Lions came into the game motivated to topple the Chargers and it showed. In the first four possessions for the Nittany Lions, four different players hit their shot from behind the arc, to help them run out to a 12-2 advantage.  After the first quarter Abington still held a 16-7 lead over the hosts.
Clutch shooting from downtown for the Chargers helped them back within two points in the first four minutes of the second quarter. The Nittany Lions held on to their slim advantage by knocking down their three-pointers, leading the Chargers 28-26 at the break.
In a defensive third period the Nittany Lions fought for the lead, but the Chargers came back to tie the game multiple times. With only a few minutes remaining LBC pulled ahead by a bucket, but Abington ended the period on a 7-2 swing to take back the lead.
Abington caught fire in the fourth period, shooting the lights out and going 13-of-19 from the floor to storm past the Chargers and complete the upset.
The Nittany Lions will move on to the NEAC Semifinals where they will travel to SUNY Poly who will host the tournament. Abington will face the No 1. seeded Wildcats in the first game of the NEAC Semifinals at 2:00 p.m.
