Nittany Lions Top CSE, 86-77

MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Penn State Abington men's basketball team rebounded with a key 86-77 conference win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday night. Abington improves to 7-6 in the conference and 9-11 overall.

Sophomore
John Ryan (Warminster, PA) shined with a double-double, as he scored 18 points and scooped 11 rebounds. Next senior guard Kenny Bey-Brown (Philadelphia, PA) hit a season high 14 points, and chipped in five steals. In the team effort a total of six players hit double-digits in scoring.

In the first half the Nittany Lions shot an impressive 54 percent from the floor, but Abington was carless in possession with 16 turnovers. The Eagles capitalized on the Nittany Lions sloppy play throughout the game with 33 points off of turnovers. Abington and CSE traded the lead throughout the half, but two three-pointers from sophomore
Terrance Reese (Philadelphia, PA) helped them stay ahead before the break.

The Eagles vaulted out to the lead with a 13-5 run in the first ten minutes of action in the second half.  Freshman
Devin Hill (Philadelphia, PA) helped the Nittany Lions chip away at the lead and eventually, gave Abington the advantage with his shot from downtown. The Eagles struggled in foul trouble, and the Nittany Lions capitalized at the stripe with 20 points to help them hold on.

The Nittany Lions will return home for their senior day. On Saturday Abington will honor three seniors before they face off against Wilson College at 1:00 p.m.
