BRYN ATHYN, PA – The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team opened up conference play hosting Wells College, but couldn't come away with a win, in a 22-11 loss on Saturday night. After tonight the Nittany Lions fall to 0-6 for the year and 0-1 in the conference.
Sophomore
Melissa Felicetti (Willow Grove, PA) recorded four goals in the effort, while defensively
Jillian Stokes (Mayfair, PA) recorded six ground balls for the Nittanty Lions.
The Express opened up the scoring in the first half in a see-saw matchup. Both teams traded goals until Stokes started a three goal spurt for the Nittany Lions to give them the 5-3 advantage. Wells responded with four consecutive goals to answer Abington. Sophomore
Marleigh Nociti (Levittown, PA) stopped the run with her third goal of the season.  Wells finished out the half on a 6-1 run, to give them a commanding 13-7 lead going into half time.
In the second half, the Express picked up where they left off and scored two goals in the first ten minutes of action. Felicetti notched her third goal of the game after taking advantage of being a man up.  The Express rolled on and scored the next three goals to put the Nittany Lions out of reach.
Abington will look to rebound when they host Keuka College at Bryn Athyn College at noon.
