ABINGTON, PA - After being snowed out earlier this season, the Penn State Abington softball team traveled to Widener University, but couldn't pull one away from the Pride in a series sweep on Tuesday night. The Nittany Lions fell to 1-9 for the season after a 4-1 loss in game one, and 14-1 decision in the nightcap.
In game one senior Caitlin Brasier (Levittown, PA) knocked in the lone run of the game when she slammed a 1-2 pitch to deep centerfield for the first home run of the season for the Nittany Lions.
In game two the Nittany Lions tied the game in the top of the second inning when Gina Cuozzo (Havertown, Pa.) landed a single to left field.
Abington will be back in action when they host Lincoln University on Thursday afternoon with the first game starting at 2:00 p.m.
