READING, PA. –  The Penn State Abington women's team battled to a close 5-4 win over Lancaster Bible in a crucial conference matchup. The Nittany Lions improve to 3-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
 
In doubles action the Nittany Lions charged out to a 3-0 lead with an 8-4 win in the first doubles match, an 8-2 decision in the second doubles, and 8-2 victory in the third match to complete the shutout.
 
The Chargers wouldn't go down without a fight, but Michelle Mirjani (Great Neck, NY) and Isabella Blackwell (Philadelphia, PA) picked up huge wins in the second and sixth match to clinch the match.
 
Next Abington will host Bryn Athyn College in a cross-town rivalry match on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
