Women's Lacrosse Earns first Win, 19-14

LANCASTER, PA – Behind six goals from Allison Felicetti (Willow Grove, PA), the Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season with a 19-14 decision over Lancaster Bible on Friday afternoon. After the win the Nittany Lions improve to 1-8 for the season and 1-3 in the conference.

Senior Michaela Mast (Pottstown, Pa.) notched five goals and sophomore Marleigh Nociti (Levittown, PA) added four goals to help the Nittany Lions.

The Chargers were first on the board with only a minute underway, but Allison sparked the attack with two consecutive goals.  Lancaster Bible's Myranda Kemrer tied the game 2-2, only seconds after the Nittany Lions took the lead. Both teams traded goals and were tied 4-4 with only six minutes remaining. Felicetti and Nociti took control of the game in the final minutes of the half, outscoring the chargers 4-1 in before the break.

Again the Chargers scored right out of the gate in the second half, but Abington continued to respond. Up 11-9 with 10 minutes off the clock, the Nittany Lions started to pull away with a 6-2 run highlighted by four goals from Mast. The Nittany Lions held on for their first win of the season.

Abington will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to SUNY Poly with game time slated for noon.
