ABINGTON, PA – In a torrential down pour, the Penn State Abington men's soccer team faced off against Penn State Brandywine and came away with a 2-0 win on Wednesday afternoon. Abington improves to 3-2 on the season after the win.
The hosts dominated the field of play outshooting Brandywine 28-8, and only conceded two shots on target by the visitors.
Jaden Truskey (Ephrata, PA) kicked off the scoring in the first half when he cut in at the top of the box and beat the keeper to the left post to score his second goal of the season. The Nittany Lions took a 1-0 lead going into the break with the rain continually pounding the turf.
In the second half the Nittany Lions continued to press Brandywine and in the 65
th minute
Tomasz Ogonowski (Pipersville, PA) doubled the lead for Abington with a perfect shot into the corner of the net.
The Nittany Lions will be back in action when they face a critical conference test in Penn State Berks this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
