ABINGTON, Pa. – Down 2-0 to Bryn Athyn College the Penn State Abington women's volleyball team earned two straight wins to force the fifth set, but came up short in a 3-2 loss Friday night. After tonight the Nittany Lions fall to 2-9 for the season.

Despite the loss
Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, PA) shined with 21 kills, and junior
Cortney Schwar (Annandale, NJ) set the team up with 27 assists on the evening.

Self inflicted errors put the Nittany Lions behind in the first two sets with a 25-20 loss in the opener, and a 25-18 defeat in the second set. With their backs against the wall the Nittany Lions stormed out in front in the third set and held on to a 25-20 win. In the fourth set Abington dominated with a 25-15 decision in the hosts favor. Tied 2-2 in the tiebreaker, the Nittany Lions slow start kept them from the win in a 15-9 loss in the final set.

The Nittany Lions will be on the road at Penn State Berks this weekend for an important conference match. Abington faces off against Berks on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will later face Notre Dame of Maryland at 1:00 p.m.
