WASHINGTON, DC-
Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, PA) led the Penn State Abington men's soccer team to an explosive 8-0 win over Gallaudet on Wednesday night. The Nittany Lions improve to 5-2 for the season and remain undefeated in the NEAC at 3-0.
Villamil led all scorers with a brace, bringing his season total to three goals. Â
Sebastian Krysztofowicz (Doylestown, PA) and
Ed Worthington (Fairless Hills, PA) netted their first goals of the season and sophomore
Mohammed Nijim (Philadelphia, PA) recorded the first goal of his collegiate career.
It didn't take long for the Nittany Lions to get on the board when
Sebastian Perkowski (Fountainville, PA) scored his fourth goal of the season in the 11
th minute. Â Villamil doubled the lead in the 32
nd minute, and moments later Worthington made it 3-0 in the 36
th minute. Right before the half the Nittany Lions made it 4-0 with Nijim's first goal of the season.
Coming out the break the Nittany Lions kept firing on the net when
Tomasz Ogonowski (Pipersville, PA) beat the keeper one-on-one for his fourth goal of the season. In the 52
nd minute Villamil made It 6-0 and six minutes later Krystofowicz earned his goal.Â
Jose Palomeque (Upper Dublin, PA) capped off the scoring party with a beautiful long shot for his fourth goal of the season.
The Bison were able to get on the board in the 88
th minute, but Abington's lead was never in doubt the entire game.
The Nittany Lions return home host NEAC power Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
