Men's Soccer Shuts Down LBC, 1-0

ABINGTON, PA – A late first half goal from Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, PA) kept the Penn State Abington mens soccer team perfect in the conference, defeating Lancaster Bible 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
After the win the Nittany Lions improve to 6-2 Overall and 4-0 in the conference.

In the physical matchup between NEAC powerhouses, Abingtons defense held the Chargers to only four shots for the entire game. The Nittany Lions peppered the goal with 14 shots and forced the Chargers keeper to make five saves.

The first half started out quietly but in the 38th minute Jaden Truskey (Ephrata, PA) put in a deep cross to the back post that was headed in by Villamil to net his fourth goal of the season.  With that goal Villamil ties Matt Howard for third in program history for goals.

In the second half the Nittany Lions had plenty of chances to double their lead, but couldn't push their lead.

Abington will face another tough test next weekend when Morrisville State comes to town on Saturday September 29th at 3:00 p.m.
