ABINGTON, PA-. The Penn State Abington women's soccer team hosted NEAC opponent Cazenovia College on Sunday afternoon. After a successful penalty kick in the final seconds of the game, the Wildcats defeated Abington 3-2.
Nine minutes into the first half, freshman
Taylor Perkowski (Collingswood, NJ) put the Nittany Lions on the board 1-0 with her second goal of her collegiate career. Cazenovia responded at the 22nd minute mark by tying the game 1-1.
After a hard foul in the box, Abington had the opportunity to shoot a penalty kick. Senior
Sarah Eisele (Langhorne, PA) scored her second goal of the season and put the Nittany Lions up 2-1 at halftime.
With twenty minutes left in the second half, the Wildcats put up a fight to tie the Nittany Lions 2-2. As the clock began to wind down with twenty seconds left of game play, the Nittany Lions fouled, giving Cazenovia's Madison Adams a chance to shoot a victorious penalty kick. The Wildcats scored and defeated Abington 3-2.
Abington drops to 2-6-2 overall and 1-4-1 in conference.
The Nittany Lions will host Delaware Valley on October 3rd for a 4pm match
