GLASSBORO, NJ – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team traveled to the Rowan University tournament, but came away empty handed on day one, with a 3-0 loss to the Profs, and a 3-1 defeat to Keystone. After tonight the Nittany Lions fall to 2-5 for the season.

Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) cleaned up defensively with 36 total digs through both matches. In the attack,
Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, PA) recorded 15 kills on the evening.
In the first match against the tournament hosts, the Nittany Lions fought hard in the first set tied 23-23, but Abington dropped the final two points and the first set to the Profs. Rowan took the second set with a 25-17 score and closed out the match with a dominate 25-13 win for the sweep.
Abington looked to rebound in the second match of the night, but Keystone came out with the hot hand. The Nittany Lions kept the set close but the Giants went on a 12-5 run to earn the first point in a 25-15 win. Â In the next set Abington responded, and in a tight match the Nittany Lions and Giants were tied 21-21. Anderson took control of the match giving the Nittany Lions two crucial kills to help them to the 25-22 win. Tied 1-1 Keystone pulled ahead in the third set with a 25-16 win, and in the next set closed out the Nittany Lions 25-21.
Abington continues the Rowan tournament tomorrow with Ursinus College at 1:00 p.m. and Widener University at 3:00 p.m.
