Men's Soccer Tops Penn College 3-2 in Overtime Thriller

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The defending NEAC Champions openend their conference slate with Penn College, and trailed 2-0 at the half. The Nittany Lions responded with two second half goals, and in the 94 minute Sebastian Perkowski (Fountainville, PA) scored a stunner to give Abington the 3-2 overtime win. The Nittany Lions improve to 2-2 for the season and 1-0 in the conference.

The Wildcats opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a free kick goal that snuck past the keeper. Ten minutes later Penn College scored on another set piece when Seth Bibie headed home the free kick.

After the break the Nittany Lions came out motivated to score with 10 shots in the second half.  Sophomore Jose Palomeque (Upper Dublin, PA) helped the Nittany Lions claw their way back with his second goal of the season in the 67th minute.  Later freshman David Panea (Philadelphia, PA) scored his goal in the 74th minute to tie the match, and swing momentum heavily in the Nittany Lions favor.

Neither team could break through until the first period of overtime. Only four minutes into the period Perkowski put away the game with his third goal in two games.

Abington will be back in action when they host Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
